1. You can’t just block them from commenting? That’s what I did.

2. Wordpress only holds those comments in moderation, as in you need to delete/approve them. The blacklist (plus a nifty little add-on that requires me to go swimming into WP code) is to block them, but I’m not in the mood to do any of that right now.

3. Well, if you’re tired of the moderation, WPBlacklist 2.0 at least makes the moderation stuff a bit easier in that you don’t have to individually delete comments :p WPBlacklist 2.0 lets you select all the comments in the moderation queue, add the IP, URL and e-mail to your blacklist and mass delete the comments :p

4. Thanks for your comment, Fahim. :) I read that somewhere that to block the comments (not just mass delete from moderation queue), additional piece of code is required, ala this. Perhaps direct blocking would deter the comment spammers more than moderation queue since there is that tiny chance that someone will still read the comment in moderation.

6. OK, now you can have automatic deletion of comments by the WPBlacklist plugin with the release of WPBlacklist 2.5 :p You can read all about it on my blog - if you want to that is.
